Youth/Worship Pastor Now Senior Pastor

In August, 2007 Pastor Tom Holloway joined the staff at SCWC as minister of youth and music. Familiar with the area, Tom is a graduate of Comstock Park High School, attended Grand Rapids Community College and Central Michigan University. With a love of gymnastics, and ability in coaching, Tom coached throughout his time at CMU and then worked full time as a gymnastic instructor. He continued his education at Aquinas College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and received his teaching certificate in 1999 and then became Assistant Women’s Gymnastics Coach for Michigan State University.

During his time at MSU Tom felt a call to the ministry and began taking ordination classes through the Wesleyan Church and was ordained in 2008. He was involved with youth groups at Kentwood Community Church and was youth pastor at Crossroads Wesleyan Church in Rockford from 2003 until joining the staff at Solon Center.

Tom and his wife Kim, a former CMU gymnast, reside in Cedar Springs and have three children, Taylor, Christian and Jackson. Kim currently teaches in the Gators program at Cedar Trails Elementary School.  Tom was instrumental in the formation of EnGedi, Cedar Spring's Youth center currently located at Red Hawk Elementary and served as its director until becoming senior pastor at SCWC.  

Along with assuming the senior pastor position in July of 2011, Tom continues to lead worship at the church. He has also led worship at the Wesleyan denomination's FLAME (Fellowship of Leaders Acquiring Ministerial Preparation) conferences, in North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana & Michigan. He sings, plays the guitar, the piano and the drums.

“My goal for ministry here at Solon Center is to reach as many people as possible with the love of Christ”, says Tom of his role in the church. “I want to see families strengthened together and grow in their faith".
